New Brand Identity for Irish Gourmet.co.uk

Irish Gourmet is our subsidiary site, where customers can see the quality of the products that go into a Basketsgalore Gift Hamper, and if they so wish create their own bespoke product.

Set up in March 2005, Irish Gourmet has captured the imagination of the British and Irish public and in some areas is more famous than our international Basketsgalore company. To reflect this we commissioned a leading artist to design our new Logo, which can now be seen at www.irishgourmet.co.uk.

The rationale behind this logo is that it is essentially Irish, with the letters ‘I’ and ‘G’ representing swirling Celtic knots. However, the contemporary crimson and olive colours are suggestive of the new modern, dynamic Ireland. This is further reinforced by our strap line; ‘Taste the Past, Taste the Future, Taste Ireland’. It was felt that this was necessary bearing in mind our ‘co.uk’ domain name, which often confuses, but merely reflects our location in Northern Ireland.

Also scheduled for completion later this month is a forum dedicated to Gourmet food from around Ireland, where customers can ask questions and discuss food they would like to see available on the site.

Already up and running is our Irish Gourmet Blog, where ‘The Irish Gourmet’ will relay tales of their experiences with the producers of our food and other people connected to the Gourmet Food Industry in Ireland.
